“The thrill for me is that every wedding day is different,” says Jamie Lumley of Lumley Pictures.
After studying photography at the London College of Printing, he’s had a varied career, including portrait work, capturing corporate events and presenting urban and rural landscapes for exhibition. Having photographed “weddings with themes, costumes, uniforms and performers, in and around London” for years, he’s now stationed himself north of the border. “I want to add some castles to my wedding portfolio,” he laughs. “Castles aside, my wedding photography is built around telling the story of the day. I insist on shooting formal group shots and portraits, as they are traditional and good to have on the mantelpiece, but it is equally important to catch the unexpected moments and details that make each wedding unique.”
